Realist

Everyday, we are far apart
Our lives diverging with roads stretching thin
Our paths changing like dandelions in the wind

How do I make it stop
Slow it down
Take me back to where the world felt wide enough for our hearts to beat

I want to hear your footsteps down the hall
And the smells of fresh foods seep through my door
Let me be in a house warmer than the orange light from the golden sun that shines through my blinds
The time passes
Unable to perceive how my memories have changed

Let me run
Let me dance
Let me leap back into your arms
My head was empty but my heart was full

We lived in an eternal season
Time forever frozen still
Snow Falls or sunbeams were all the same

I wait now
Wait for a time to come
Where my memories are tangible once again
Where your presence is seen and felt

The life we had humbles my heart
The fear
The pain
Can only be proof

Of the the eternal love that exists within me that spans eternity

Poems can take a form or image and render them into a feeling. Poetry can change hearts, refine minds, and inspire a greater imagination. Poetry can help you connect, connect with a feeling you may have never had for a person you never thought you could empathize with in  such a way. Poetry can help you find your beliefs and discover your personal view on humanity. Reading poetry allows anyone to see and feel a world that someone else habits, which in turn, can persuade and adjust the way you see the world in which you actually live in.

The most difficult part of writing a symbolist poem was creating a meaning and while also trying to simota maluly hide what that meaning was. Being able to tie together imagery and symbolism to bring forth the meaning of the poem is a task only great poets can truly handle. I struggled greeting while writing my symbolist poem. I am extremely amatuer when it comes to writing poetry and my inexpreinceness does nothing to aid this fact.

Meaning in Poerty

Meaning in poetry can be very salient. Though poetry is often thought to be one of the most strenuous forms of literature, its idvisuality is what makes it so exceptional. Because it is almost like poetry exists to be interpreted, it seems nearly impossible to create a poem that is absent of any form of meaning and purpose. I belie meaning is critical in any form of storytelling, therefore it must be critical in the art of poetry. Anyone writer or any person could effortlessly string alluring phrases and exquisite words together to form a unclear poetic sequence, but a great poet, use forms and devices to convey a message that can understood and taken away by any reader that comes across said poem.

When it comes to visual arts, meaning can be thought of in a very similar way. Any artist or any person could make a piece of work that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but a great artist or a master could create a work that is both that, and pleasing to the mind. Both writing and art are truly one in the same. They help the creator learn about themselves in the process, but they also help the audience learn a great deal as well. Is it important when creating, that you must forget that it will made for the entirety of the population. If you value sounding elegant and sophisticated over the content of the piece, the meaning will be lost.

A took a seed

I planted it near

With a world in my hands

And a new light in my heart

I walked and found a garden

A neglected path with with an empty spirit

I sprout a hope that could brighten the darkest dark

To bring a life to heal the world

My writing process usually starts with a slow-burning idea. I like to spend a majority of my time and energy in the earliest stages of writing, much like i do when creating art. If the foundation is weak, nothing else will be able to stand. If I could pinpoint exactly where my writing ideas come from I would, but unfortunately I am unable to know where the spark that lights the flame originates. I would say I am more in line with “writing on cue” while striving to write in an unflustered state where I can be the most equable. When I write, I try to write in a comfortable environment. In this case, it would be my own room. Being an introvert, the feeling of being alone gives me immense serenity. This kinda environment serves me the most purpose, knowing I the only thing my mind will fixate on is my writing. The hours the strongest writing is produced are the hours I find myself being the most productive. Those hours are usually the latest and last hours of my night after my mind is free from a full day of activities and responsibilities.

Assignment 1:

A gleaming glow swept the air.

Children of light, under the softest stars,

Smile with your lovely eyes!

See the enchantment,

Feel the magic,

For all the worlds splendor rests in your hands.

A golden place full of wonder is here for you,

A world only you can understand.
